On December 3rd, at the start of the Yuletide season, ICBL demonstrated its ongoing commitment to community support by donating $50,000 to five charitable organisations across Barbados.
Speaking at the donation ceremony held at ICBL Headquarters, CEO Goulbourne Alleyne acknowledged that while the Barbados economy is showing encouraging signs of growth, many individuals and families continue to face significant challenges. He noted that persistently high levels of communicable diseases remain a major concern.
Alleyne explained:
“These illnesses place extraordinary pressure on our public healthcare system, with rising costs that affect us all. It is clear that the state cannot meet these challenges alone. And that is why we are here today.”
Addressing the decision behind the selection of the five beneficiary organisations, Alleyne praised their unwavering dedication and impact on the lives of vulnerable Barbadians.
“The work of these organisations is nothing short of remarkable. They provide a lifeline for thousands of Barbadians whose circumstances leave them vulnerable, often through no fault of their own. What you provide is not simply assistance; for many, it is the difference between hardship and hope, between despair and survival.”

The Charities receiving $10,000 each included:
- Heart and Stroke Foundation
- The Barbados Cancer Society
- The Diabetes and Hypertension Association
- Variety – The Children’s Charity of Barbados
- The Barbados Salvation Army
This contribution reflects ICBL’s continued dedication to strengthening the social fabric of Barbados and supporting organisations that deliver critical services to those in need.
