It was an all-boys winning circle at the conclusion of the 2025 ICBL National Junior Spelling Bee Competition, held on November 14, 2025, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

The morning opened with a delightful showcase of youthful talent. Seven-year-old Arturo Tappin III, a student of St. Gabrielle’s School, delivered the National Anthem, followed by 10-year-old Master Kjaé Holder of Charles F. Broome Memorial School, who performed his Junior Calypso Monarch hit, “Lend a Helping Hand.”
In her welcome remarks, AVP Rhea Mapp-Byone noted,
“We believe that the ICBL National Spelling Bee will reinvigorate the love of words and reading among our youth, improve students’ spelling, expand their vocabulary, teach word-building concepts, and instill good use of English in the participants.”

A total of eighty-seven (87) students from thirty-three (33) primary schools awaited their turn to compete. After eight intense rounds—and two spell-offs to determine the 4th and 5th positions—Myles Turton of St. Cyprian’s Boys’ School emerged as the 2025 Spelling Bee Champion.
