ICBL kicked off the Company’s 45th Anniversary celebrations by joining the congregation at the Carrington Wesleyan Holiness Church on Welches Road, St Michael on Psalm Sunday.
Head of the church, Reverend Clayton Springer, welcomed the ICBL CEO and Staff and congratulated the Company on the milestone achievement. He advised the organization to continue to make their customers a priority.
In his remarks to the congregation, CEO Goulbourne Alleyne said, “Embracing the future (the anniversary theme) does not mean that all the challenges are over. There is a danger of allowing past successes and past failures to limit our expectations of the future. Looking at the past can give us a new sense of appreciation for all God has done through the years. The past can serve as a launching pad for the future, which allows us to go forward with a new determination.”
He outlined that the Company started with twenty-two employees at a small office in James Street and had grown leaps and bounds from those humble beginnings to become a household name in insurance in Barbados, with a current staff complement of over 100 and over 45,000 customers. “Most of our staff have been with the Company for over ten years, and that says a lot about us as an employer,” said Alleyne.
The CEO thanked past and present employees who contributed to the growth and development of the Company. He further commented, “As a company, we acknowledge God as the core of it all, and for that reason, we are here to give thanks for our blessings.”
